Lorde

Lorde will play a standalone Laneway show two days after the Auckland festival next month.

Having been nominated for four awards at the 56th annual Grammy Awards the New Zealand singing sensation will attend the awards in Los Angeles, which are on at the same time as the Laneway Festival in Auckland.

Lorde was nominated for Record of the Year (Pure Heroine), Song of the Year (Royals), Best Pop Vocal Album (Pure Heroine) and Best Pop Solo Performance (Royals.)

She was scheduled to perform at the 2014 Laneway Auckland festival on Monday, 27th January 2013, however due to the tight timeframe between events she is unable to make it back in time.

Laneway Festival organisers have announced a standalone Lorde performance at the festival site at Silo Park on Wednesday, 29th January to accommodate her schedule and her New Zealand fans.

Lorde will be playing all Laneway Festival shows in Australia.

The event will be free of charge to all festival-goers who already have a ticket to the 2014 Laneway Auckland Festival or who purchase one before 5pm on Wednesday, 8th January 2014.

While the Laneway Festival is an over-18 event, the newly-scheduled Lorde show will be All-Ages to accommodate all fans. Tickets to the Lorde show will go on-sale on 12pm on Thursday, 9 January 2014.

The special Laneway Festival presents Lorde make-up show and hometown appearance will be her only summer performance.

A Laneway Festival statement said: "These outstanding nominations are historic in nature and a huge achievement for Lorde. Laneway Festival is in full support of Lorde and her strong future."

"Laneway Festival are thrilled to put on a make-up show for Lorde as she continues to be globally recognised for her unparalleled work in music."

The Laneway Festival 2014 is set to be a highlight on the music-lovers' calendar. Don't miss it.

Tickets to Laneway Festival can be purchased through auckland.lanewayfestival.com.au.

Everyone who has purchased a Laneway Festival ticket before 5pm on Wednesday, 8th January 2014 will be offered a ticket to the Lorde show free of charge. For current Laneway ticket holders, instructions will be sent to them via email on Monday, 9th December 2013, on how this ticket can be redeemed.

For people who purchase a Laneway ticket between Monday, 9th December 2013 and 5pm on Wednesday, 8th January 2014, instructions will be cleared stated on how they can redeem a ticket free of charge to Lorde's show.

Laneway ticket holders have until 5pm on Wednesday, 8th January 2014 to register for their free Lorde ticket, after this date they will need to purchase a separate ticket to the show. This will be an additional cost to any tickets purchased for Laneway Festival.
