As the school year drew to a close, Rotorua Lakes High School held a "Top Town" day organised by the house leaders.
The students enjoyed every minute, joining in activities such as a mega water slide, an inflatable boxing ring, an inflatable slide, and various other games - most ofwhich involved dodging teachers with water guns and wet sponges.
The best part of the day was the arrival of a "Zorb" where a pair of students at a time literally had a "ball" attempting to get it moving and keep to the track.
The day finished with hilarious relays and a tug of war. Students had to run up a hill with an inflatable ring, run the gauntlet of senior students and staff whacking them with noodles then slide down the slippery water slide while trying to hold on to the ring. They then had to pick themselves up and pull in unison against the other houses on a giant rope in the tug of war.
Though exhausted and wet the students enjoyed their day away from the classroom and thanked their heads of houses for the fun. Bring on a repeat next year, was the verdict. They also thanked "Zorb" for their donation that made the day special.
