Katchafire show to set Rotorua alight

On the back of a sell-out international tour, iconic band Katchafire is coming to Rotorua.

The reggae band will be playing at Ngongotaha's Kalah Bar on Friday, November 16.

Bar owner Janina Khan said the band was touring America and were heading to Rotorua before their national On The Road Again summer tour.

Fans were sure to be pleased the band was returning to Rotorua as they hadn't played here for two years, she said.

Two Hamilton shows were sold out and organisers had said they could have held another two sell-out shows.

Ms Khan said she was sure much of the crowd at those shows were Rotorua fans.

"They haven't been here for two years ... this show completes an international tour. Hamilton was sold out."

It's a night not to be missed, Ms Khan said.

"They are an iconic reggae band with a big-quality sound. People can expect a great show."

Energy Rising would be opening for the band on the night at 8.30pm with doors opening at 7pm.
