The Wiggles' big red car was a huge hit with the fans.
If you weren't already a Wiggles fan, you would be now after seeing the troupe in action in Rotorua.
A near full house of screaming kids - and some pretty excited parents - sang, clapped and cheered their way through an hour-long show at the Rotorua Civic Theatre yesterday.
TheWiggles' Apples and Bananas tour is making its way around the country, delighting fans of the colourful Australian foursome who have been around for years. The show started off with all the favourites including Fruit Salad, Hot Potato, Simon Says, Do the Propeller and Rock a Bye Your Bear.
The secret to the Wiggles' success is their simplicity. While there is individual brilliance in their performance, notably Emma the Yellow Wiggle's ballet skills and Red Wiggle Simon's operatic singing, what they do isn't flashy - it's just catchy and fun.
Their sidekicks, the Fab Four, were welcomed on to the stage with screaming applause. They included Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus.
Children in the crowd came well prepared for the show - giving Dorothy bunches of roses, and Wag hand-made bones. Other wee fans handed on gifts, pretty pictures and cards.
Rotorua's Zoe Gellatly, 4, said her favourite part was when the Big Red Car came on to the stage. She had high praise for the show's cast - giving them a simple but affirmative "good". She also thought Lachy was really funny how he kept falling asleep.
Stevie Makiha, 3, said her favourite part was when the princess fell asleep and kept snoring out loud when the prince tried to kiss her.
