Helping to plan the perfect wedding

It's hard work organising the perfect wedding but life was made a bit easier for prospective partners at the weekend's Rydges Wedding Show.

Featuring 10 exhibitors, the show was held at Rydges Hotel on Fenton St on Saturday.

Rydges conference co-ordinator Nicola McCarrison said it was a successful day with about 50 people attending.

"They were an awesome crowd and it was very successful for our suppliers who came along. People saw what we thought were the essentials for any wedding, such as celebrants, flowers, dresses and entertainment," she said.

People also came along to see what Rydges offered as a venue.

Show visitor Melanie Hartley and her partner Hector Smith took their children along looking for some inspiration.

"It gave us some insights into what we are looking for. I was interested in looking at their venue as well.

"It all seemed a lot easier and gave us a better understanding of what's involved," she said.
