Award-winning fiddler Marian Burns and Friends are coming to Rotorua with Irish-themed toe-tapping show If You're Irish, Come Into the Parlour.
The October 29 concert has been billed as an "Irish extravaganza of frenzied playing, with the occasional slow ballad thrown in while we all catch our breath".
Rotorua musiclovers are being encouraged to grab something green and skip along to this new show from the Daytime Concert Series, which features favourite Irish tunes including Phil the Fluter's Ball, That's an Irish Lullaby, McNamara's Band and I'll take thee home again - to name a few.
The concert will be led by Burns with Operatunity director John Cameron and guest artists Alex Milligan, Ben McDonald and Imogen Thirlwall, accompanied by an Irish band.
Burns and her violin have been fiddling their way across the world at a hectic pace from the top of the Eiffel Tower to the bottom of the Grand Canyon with the Blarney Castle and the Grand Ole Opry in between.
Burns was the winner of New Zealand's Benny Award at the 2012 Variety Artists Awards, Australia's Best Fiddler as a Soloist at the 2013 Golden Fiddle Awards and was presented with the Life Time Achievement Award upon celebrating 40 years of playing the violin.
The concert is at 11am at the Rotorua Baptist Church.
Tickets are $30 including lunch with the artists (discounts for groups and regular bookings).
