There are lots of trousers around this summer and also in a wide variety of styles.

A good pair of trousers can be flattering and versatile. But finding that right pair is not always easy.

The good news is that although there are lots of trousers around this summer, they are also in a wide variety of styles, so if you're not fond of your bottom half you don't have to highlight it with a pair of skinny pedal pushers.

There are lots of high-waisted styles in the shops and although they can be a bit intimidating, they are an excellent way to define your waist if you have a boyish figure. Tuck your top in for even more definition.

Long, straight cuts can help make you look taller and wide-leg styles are an alternative to the bootcut to balance wide hips.

A front pleat gives the illusion of longer legs. If you're short, look for cropped pants that hit just above your calves, but stay well clear of flares or palazzo pants.

Harem pants are still everywhere and are extremely comfortable for summer. Balance the extra material on your bottom half with a fitted top.

A great pair of strappy flat sandals is the perfect option for work or weekends, especially paired with trousers that finish on or a little above the ankle.
