Jennnifer Lawrence as Katniss.

Jennnifer Lawrence as Katniss.

What hasn't already been written about Jennifer Lawrence? At 23 she has an Academy Award (Silver Linings Playbook) and another nomination (American Hustle) under her belt, not to mention the starring role in the blockbuster Hunger Games series.

In Catching Fire, we initially reflect on Katniss' (Lawrence) new reality. The storyline quickly reminds viewers of the brutality that is inherent in this highly popular franchise.

Euphemistic techniques are ignored in favour of shocking viewing. When the illusion ends it comes with the sad realisation that it will be another year before we get another instalment.
