Local music lovers will be getting a special treat this summer with More FM's 2011 Winery Tour Summer Series hitting Taupo for the second year in a row.
The tour returns by popular demand to Taupo with the concert playing at Unison Amphitheatre on Sunday, February 20.
The concert will be headlinedby New Zealand's favourite songbird Brooke Fraser, who will be joined by an all male entourage - chart-topping four-piece band Opshop and the popular Auckland rock band Midnight Youth.
Event co-promoter Brent Eccles said the 2011 line up was a great blend of pop, rock & ballads and had something for fans of all ages and musical persuasions this summer.
He also praised Taupo's concert location and promised a great night.
"The venue is right on the city fringe and well known to the locals. It provides a magic location for the tour. Not to be missed."
The artists themselves are excited about performing on the Winery Tour.
"For me, the winery tour means celebrating summer in some of the most picturesque locations in NZ with old friends and new, whilst enjoying a good drop - I wouldn't miss it," Fraser said.
Opshop's Jason Kerrison wholeheartedly agreed.
"The winery tour is a fantastic opportunity to let loose, play a little music, sip a little vino and sample platters of delish tucker from the rich tapestry that is the New Zealand summer. We're looking forward to catching up for a wonderful festival with some old mates."
Tickets for the concert are on sale now, with an Early Bird offer of $55 plus booking fee for the month of November.
That price increases to $65 plus booking fee from December 1.
One child under the age of 12 is free when accompanied by by an adult ticket holder.
