Personal trainer Anna Bramley is part of a team of health experts who give advice on A Season of Change, an online self-image and lifestyle TV show that aims to improve the lives of thousands of Kiwi women over 12 episodes. She gives her top five tips for a sustainable, healthier life:

1.Sleep

Sleep is so important for mental as well as physical wellbeing. This is when your body repairs itself. You need seven to nine hours a night to perform at your best.

2.Nutrition

Eat clean and minimise your sugar intake. You will feel a thousand times better within weeks, I guarantee it.

3.Schedule in your own personal down time that is non-negotiable.

Treat it like an appointment, this time is important, don't feel obliged to give it up to make time for others.

4.Find time with friends.

If exercise can become a social time you will not only enjoy it more, you will also have other people to be accountable to and will be more likely to turn up.

5.Acknowledge your achievements

Let yourself feel happy about every step you make in the right direction. Set small goals that you're capable of achieving and as you achieve them your confidence will soar.
