Some of Rotorua's tourist attractions have made it on to our television sets and will star as backdrops on hit New Zealand show The Almighty Johnsons.
Tomorrow's episode features main character Axl Johnson (played by Emmett Skilton) and his on-screen father Joe (Stuart Devenie) head off on a road tripto their ancestral home of Norsewood, visiting a few towns and cities along the way.
The Almighty Johnsons is a comedy-drama series about four brothers who just happen to be descended from Norse gods.
South Pacific Pictures head of publicity Tamar Munch said Rotorua's Ogo, Agroventures and River Rats would appear on the show.
She said the episodes were filmed earlier this year, during summer, and also featured some of Rotorua's iconic destinations like the Government Gardens and museum.
"The show also has quite a big international following in Canada, who get the latest episode a day after New Zealand, and also in England on the Sci-Fi channel," Ms Munch said.
Taupo's Hole in One Challenge is briefly featured in next week's episode while the cast are also seen at Mt Maunganui beach.
Catch Rotorua on The Almighty Johnsons from 8.30pm on TV3 tomorrow night.
