Savage
Mayhem and Miracles
Hip Hop
Dawn Raid
Over the last week I've lost count of how many times I have listened to Savage's Mayhem and Miracles from start to finish.
In my opinion, the best way to tell how good an album is by the amount of
songs you don't skip past - and each time I've played the hip hop heavyweight's third solo album, I haven't yet felt the need to ignore any of the tracks.
Mayhem and Miracles has been recorded and mixed in Hollywood at hip hop producer and MC DJ Quik's studio, The Vault. And featuring on this new album are top Polynesian artists from around the world.
The track Twerk has been blasting airwaves and his current single Because of You featuring Spawnbreezie is also getting good airplay.
While listening to the album (usually in my newsroom with headphones on) I have found it difficult to keep still, especially when my favourite dancey tracks Twerk and Everywhere I Go would play.
I'm a sucker for a good beat and a catchy hook and there are a few songs on this album fulfil that for me. Get Paid and My Time is bouncy and catchy while This is Me featuring Devolo and I Promise featuring Ria are more upbeat tracks.
If you're the type of person who likes to listen to music while you're working, I've found Mayhem and Miracles to do me well these last couple of weeks.
