Elizabeth Marvelly
Home
3-1/2 stars As you listen to the first track on Elizabeth Marvelly's album Home, you get a personal glimpse into her as an artist.
The No1 track, which has the same name as the album, is penned by the talented young woman herself and you can hear thelove she has for it in her performance.
I took this album with me on a road trip and played it the whole journey. You can do this easily with Home and, because many of the tracks are already well known, you can even sing along - if you choose to. But given how fresh and pure Marvelly's vocals are, you may not want to ruin the experience.
She is clear and strong and her vocal abilities are amazing.
Home is a 12-track album featuring songs such as E Papa, Ave Maria, Welcome Home, Amazing Grace and many more. My favourites on the album include her rendition of Don't Dream It's Over, The Prayer, featuring Paul Potts, and How Great Thou Art (Whakaaria Mai).
There is no denying that Marvelly is extremely talented.
