Social media is every where these days. Nobody seems to be able to change their socks without announcing it to the world via Facebook and Twitter.
While these web-based media offer tremendous opportunities for business networking and cheap, effective marketing, how many businesses are actually making active use of them?
Are you a complete convert who posts regularly, attachs links, provides special offers for Facebook friends and knows how to analyse your contacts base in minute detail?
Or are you a passive participant in the social media revolution? You have Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts because everybody said you should. But, since the initial burst of friend finding, you have lapsed and now only go in once a week or so to see whether anybody else has done something interesting, but you don't tend to use the media for outgoing communication.
Then there are the online Luddites who point blank refuse to get involved. If somebody wants to do business with you, they should email you, ring you or come and see you in person.
Which one are you?
