The Lockwood Group is marking its 60th anniversary by staging a residential design and building showcase with Verda during the Rugby World Cup 2011.
As part of the Winning with Wood programme, the site at the Lockwood village on Fairy Springs Rd will feature four house designs, with outdoor furniture and
features by Verda.
This is likely to include an example of Lockwood's EcoSmart range and Verda's sustainably-treated outdoor furniture, decking and panels.
Winning with Wood is the overarching programme to promote the forestry, wood and wood products sectors to visitors coming to New Zealand for the  Cup.
Lockwood marketing manager Melanie Short said the company decided to participate because  of its strong local roots and strong export focus.
"We are really excited about the opportunity to meet with returning Kiwis and overseas visitors," she said.
For Verda, it is an opportunity to present a newer company to visitors from around the world.
Mathilde Carles said the company, founded in 2002, had been developing Australian and European export markets during the past two years and planned to expand its exports, particularly in premium decking, from 25 per cent of turnover to 60-70 per cent in the next four to five years.
