Rotorua's Polynesian Spa has appointed Richard Allen as its new sales and marketing manager.

Mr Allen, who started last week, comes from Metro Marketing in Tauranga where he was digital marketing manager, leading a team of consultants and developers. Prior to that, he was a senior marketing associate with
ReserveGroup Consulting.

Mr Allen is excited to be working with an iconic brand with such a great history.

"With the wellness industry growing, there is great potential to showcase Polynesian Spa to the world," he said.

Mr Allen grew up in Taupo and was living in Papamoa, with a move to Rotorua planned soon.

"I grew up mountain biking, fly fishing and skiing so I'm looking forward to bringing my children up here in Rotorua with so much to experience."

Polynesian Spa chief executive Gert Taljaard said Mr Allen had a rich breadth of experience in the digital marketing space and he would continue to drive Polynesian Spa to make connections with a global audience.

"He'll be able to leverage the fantastic visual and emotional journey that our products take customers on. Richard will also continue to foster relationships in the marketplace as the business continues to grow," Mr Taljaard said.
