Becoming New Zealand's top Mazda dealership has not happened overnight for Autohaus Rotorua.
The local firm picked up the accolade for the first time at Mazda's annual awards night and principal dealer Karl Heinz Meyer said it had been a goal for many years.
"We have been working towards this for some
time and you can imagine how pleased we are."
Autohaus Rotorua is a family business run by Meyer, his wife Toni Meyer and son Michael Meyer for the last 16 years.
The firm was judged on standards across a range of categories including sales, parts, customer satisfaction and service and Meyer said it was a rigorous process of analysis.
Autohaus Rotorua was ranked top of the provincial city dealers and went on to pick up Mazda's highest accolade as dealer of the year at a ceremony in Wellington on Thursday, February 10.
Mazda New Zealand managing director Andrew Clearwater congratulated the Meyers and their team on the win.
"To achieve the results they have, in what was still a year of recovery for the industry, is a significant achievement they should be immensely proud of."
