The Board of Comvita has announced the appointment of Sarah Ottrey as an Independent Director, effective November 1.

Sarah holds a number of Directorships of public companies including Blue Sky Meats Ltd, Ebos Group Ltd and Smiths City Group Ltd. Prior to becoming a professional director, Sarah worked in marketing roles in New Zealand and Asia for multi-nationals, Unilever, DB Breweries and Heineken. Her strong marketing background and governance experience on other public companies will be complementary alongside the existing Board Members, the board said

The Company has been operating with five directors over the last 12 months following the retirement of Jeff Williams.

In accordance with the Comvita constitution Sarah will be formally nominated for re-election to the Board at the 2013 annual meeting.
