Sharon Wallace is the new Rotorua branch president for the Restaurant Association.
In the role she will represent branch members on the national executive and make representations promoting the industry's best interests to local government, the public and other local organisations.
Wallace is a hospitality lecturer at Waiariki Institute of Technology and
has worked at the likes of the THC International and Sheraton hotels in Rotorua.
Vice-president is John Knight from Triple 1 Five and Seismic's Mericia Waqaninaravau is the branch secretary.
