A 59-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Rotorua yesterday afternoon.
He is due to appear in Rotorua District Court today. Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident and a scene examination is ongoing at the address today.
Emergency services were called to the property in Owhata at about 4.45pm yesterday where a man was found dead.
At the time, a police spokeswoman told the Rotorua Daily Post police were speaking to another man present at the address.
Last night, a reporter at the scene said he saw three police cars, two unmarked and one marked with lights flashing.
About 6pm another two cars, one marked, one unmarked, arrived and the officers went on to the property.
A scene guard remained in place overnight.
