Emergency services have confirmed everyone has been accounted for after a house fire in Kaingaroa.

Initial reports suggested one person was still inside the building, with Fire and Emergency reporting they were called at 6.01pm on Sunday.

However, police told the Herald as of 6.50pm everyone had been accounted for. At 8pm, the blaze was deemed not suspicious.

Two fire engines were at the scene when the Rotorua Daily Post inquired around 6.30pm, with five more on the way from Rotorua and Ngongotahā.

A Fire and Emergency spokesman said the house was fully alight when the fire service arrived on the scene.

He said a fire investigator would visit the site.

Earlier, a St John spokeswoman said the ambulance service was notified about the fire but was not required to attend.
