Police are investigating a robbery at a Rotorua petrol station.

A police media spokeswoman said police were called to the Mobil station at the intersection of Fenton St and Te Ngae Rd at 7am yesterday.

A sum of money was taken and a male offender fled the scene, she said.

The attendant was not injured in the incident.
