Police have arrested three people in connection with the supply of methamphetamine in Opotiki today.

Police searched addresses connected to the Mongrel Mob "Barbarians" gang as part of an operation targeting methamphetamine dealing in the community.

Two women, aged 27 and 40 and a man, 40, will appear in the Whakatane District Court tomorrow on methamphetamine-related charges.

Detective Senior Sergeant Standen said Bay of Plenty Police would continue to target the supply of methamphetamine.

"It is a destructive drug that impacts families in our community and destroys lives.

People dealing drugs "put profit above all else and do not consider the health and well-being of users".

Standen said drug was also a driver of crime and police were committed to holding suppliers to account.
