A man has died in a public toilet in Rotorua's CBD this morning.

A police spokeswoman said a woman called emergency services after finding an unconscious man in the toilet cubicle near Farmers in Rotorua's Central Mall.

Ambulance and police attended but the man died at the scene.

The spokeswoman said the death was believed to be medical-related and was not being treated as suspicious.

She said his next of kin were being contacted.
