Police have arrested 18-year-old Maaki Emery who was wanted in relation to an incident in Murupara.

He was found at 11.20am at a Murupara address.

Earlier this week police sighted Emery but he continued to evade police custody.

The 18-year-old is alleged to have stolen a police car - with a police-issue firearm inside - from Murupara, Bay of Plenty, more than two weeks ago on October 17.

The car was later found on Gibbs Rd - about 15km away - about 4 hours later.
