A driver received serious injuries after a logging truck rolled in Rerewhakaaitu.

A driver who was seriously injured after a logging truck rolled in Rerewhakaaitu is in a stable condition in Rotorua Hospital.

The truck rolled after hitting a power pole on Rerewhakaaitu Rd near the intersection with Yankee Rd about 10pm last night .

A police media spokeswoman said the driver, the sole-occupant, had to be cut from the truck and was taken to Rotorua Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash brought down power lines, and a number of logs came off the truck.

The road was closed until 11.30pm while the driver was freed and the road cleared.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Team is investigating.
