Rotorua police are talking to a number of people in regards to the shooting of a 35 year-old man by a police officer on Te Ngae Rd earlier this month.

While a large number of witnesses have come forward police believe there are still more who could hold vital information on the incident.

In particular they would like to speak to the young men who released the video which was widely circulated by media at the time.

Police believe these witnesses could make a significant contribution to the investigation.

Police said in a statement today that the man who was shot remained in a critical condition in hospital and police's thoughts were with his family and friends.
