A 43-year-old woman appeared in Whangarei District Court yesterday after a man was stabbed and remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Whangarei police spokeswoman Sarah Kennett said officers were called to a family violence incident at Arcus St, Otaika, about 6pm on Sunday.
A 45-year-old man had been stabbed andwas taken to Whangarei Hospital with serious injuries.
Following inquiries a 43-year-old woman was located about 20 minutes later at a Morningside property. She was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and appeared in the Whangarei District Court yesterday. Rebecca Poching was remanded in custody until August 26.
The house where the incident took place has been forensically examined along with a car that was seized.
