Emergency services are joining forces to host a family fun day in Whangarei.
Representatives from police, St John, Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) and the fire service will be at Kensington Park on Sunday, hosting activities and live demonstrations.
People will have the chance to use a fire hose, lookinside vehicles such as police cars, ambulances and a NEST helicopter, see police puppies, win prizes, meet Tane the Taniwha, and much more.
"It's about showing Northlanders just how well supported they are by such an array of services, and that these people in these services genuinely care for others," event spokesman Steve MacMillan said.
"It's also about recognising the volunteer base in Northland - it's phenomenal what they do."
