Jenny Tebbutt is 53 and has never cycled a long distance, but now she is pedalling from the Bluff to Cape Reinga.
On November 24, Mrs Tebbutt left Invercargill and embarked on a 2100km journey to raise awareness and funds for students with learning difficulties and disabilities - tomorrow she will be in Whangarei.
Mrs Tebbutt works for the Education and Achievement Association, a non-profit organisation that provides support for students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism and those with auditory and visual processing delays.
"Twenty-two per cent of kids in the education system have learning difficulties and disabilities."
Mrs Tebbutt said she felt compelled to do the ride after she noticed a demand for support provided by association, which usually supports people in the Whakatane and Tauranga region as well as other areas of New Zealand.
