Aussie jazz, blues and soul legend Renee Geyer is making a return visit to Northland this month to play an outdoor festival at Kerikeri.

Geyer, who has released well over 20 albums and performed with some of the world's biggest music stars, will headline the Summer Soul Train Festival when it arrives in Kerikeri's Kainui Road Winery on January 25.

Also lined up for the show are Kiwi guitar virtuoso Billy TK Jnr and the Groove Shakers - who will also perform with Geyer - and Jazz Groovers Blue Pearl, saxophone master Stevie Rice from Ireland, harmonica guru Rick Stringer, Juice on the Loose Blues Band and New Zealand's own emerging diva, Abbie.

Geyer is the star of the show though and after more than four decades in the business is considered Australasian music royalty with a string of hits and has been in the studio with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Sting, Joe Cocker and Chaka Kahn.

In 2004 Geyer released her 21st album Tonight which received stunning reviews and in 2005 she was inducted into the Aria Hall Of Fame.

In New Zealand she is as loved as she is back home with songs such as Shaky Ground, Heading in the Right Direction, It Only Happens and Say You Love Me.

Geyer said she is excited about touring New Zealand again this summer and playing with Billy TK Jnr after they played together at last year's Queenstown International Jazz & Blues Festival.

Billy TK Jnr will also play at Opononi Hotel on February 6, Waitangi Day.
