We have a very good safety record and are very concerned about this.Mark Hansen, Rosvall director An investigation is under way after a worker sustained moderate chest injuries in an accident with a timber stacker at a Whangarei sawmill.
An ambulance was called to Rosvall Sawmill, in Whareora Rd, about 3pm yesterday after a worker had an accident, St John spokesman Scott Mears said.
The worker, 21, was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
Rosvall director Mark Hansen said the company was concerned about the incident and was investigating to find out what went wrong and what, if anything, could be done to make the area safer.
"This is unusual for us. We have a very good safety record and are very concerned about this," Mr Hansen said.
