Kaipara District Council has not upheld formal complaints laid against its chief executive officer by former councillor Bill Guest.
Both the mayor and the council have accepted chief executive's Jack McKerchar's responses to the allegations and will not pursue the matter further.
In July 2010, Mr Guest wrote to Mr McKerchar alleging
he had breaching his contract by failing to provide the council with timely and accurate information regarding a $1m compensation claim sought by contractors Donovan Drainage & Earthmoving Limited.
Mr Guest wrote a second letter on August 13 adding further complaints.
Most of these allegations centred around consultants' contracts and their performance.
In a letter to Mayor Neil Tiller, Mr McKerchar stated he had followed due process and the portfolio holders concerned on these issues had been kept fully briefed and informed.
Other matters raised were either still in the court process or under legal investigations.
Mr Tiller said he was satisfied with the responses he received and recommended the council took the complaints no further.
Mr McKerchar declined to comment to the media.
