Two Whangarei managers have had their manager's licences suspended and their outlets can't serve alcohol for one and two days respectively after liquor was served to minors on their premises.
The two outlets - Tui Crescent Foodmarket in Maunu and Tikipunga Tavern - were found to have sold alcohol to minors during a combined police and Northland District Health Board controlled purchase operation (CPO) last month.
In decisions from the Whangarei Liquor Licensing Authority, Nimeshukumar Shah - from Tui Cres Foodmarket - had his general managers certificate suspended for three weeks from April 12, after alcohol was served to a minor during the CPO on February 1.
Shreeji Enterprises NZ Ltd, which runs the foodmarket, had its on-licence suspended for 24 hours from 9am on April 12.
Karen Faye Gregory, a manager at Tikipunga Tavern, had her general manager's certificate suspended for four weeks from March 29 after alcohol was sold to a minor at the tavern on February 1.
