Police were called to the annual meeting of the Te Tii (Waitangi) B3 Trust at the Copthorne Hotel at Waitangi after a trust beneficiary caused disruption.
Trust chairman Wiremu Tane said a man who was cautioned and asked to leave had initially refused to co-operate.
Trust officials had then askedhotel staff to call police, who were not required as the situation had been defused by the time officers arrived.
Saturday's incident is believed to be related to an incident two weeks ago in which police assisted at a court-ordered eviction of tenants from a trust-owned flat at Waitangi. It is thought the tenants were Te Tii B3 beneficiaries but had not been paying rent.
Police were called back to the flats late last week when the evicted tenants returned and would not leave.
