The Hihiaua Cultural Centre Trust will be unveiling a model today of the $20 million cultural centre it wants to build for the city.
Plans for the proposed cultural centre on the Hihiaua peninsula in Whangarei were released last year.
The cultural centre, which the Hihiaua Cultural Centre Trust has been been working on for several years, would be close to the Waka and Wave sculpture on a large grassed area beside the Hatea River, below the Northland Society of Arts complex.
The model will be unveiled at a private function at the Whangarei Art Museum tonight.
