A Northland forestry workers suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a log.
The Department of Labour is investigating yesterday's accident, which happened about 9.20am in a forestry block south of the Mangamuka Ranges.
It is thought the tree had been felled and the log was being moved when it rolled on to the worker.
He was winched on board the Northland Electricity Rescue Helicopter and flown to Whangarei Hospital.
