The fatal crash that killed a driver of a light truck at Mata, south of Whangarei.
Police and emergency services are currently at a serious truck crash on SH1 just north of Flyger Road, Ruakaka.
One person has since died and two others are in a serious but stable condition. The crash occurred at 7.30am this morning and involved two separate vehicles.
The state highway is
completely blocked and road diversions are in place. Traffic is being diverted from Paparoa / Oakley Road through to Paparoa and then onto State Highway 12 through to Maungaturoto returning to State Highway One just south of the Brynderwyns.
The circumstances of the crash are being investigated at this stage.
