UPDATE 9.25am:
Police have confirmed a 52-year-old man has died in a early morning crash in Northland today.

Initial investigations have revealed a vehicle heading south on State Highway 10 collided with a truck, which was transporting a house, about 1km north of Pakaraka.

The 52-year-old driver of the southbound vehicle died at the scene. The driver and passengers in the transporter truck were shaken but unhurt.

Northland Road Policing Manager Wayne Ewers said police have yet to determine the cause of the crash and the matter has been referred to the coroner.

The name of the deceased man will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
