Northland painted itself red when the Rugby World Cup hit the region, showing its support for Japan, Tonga and Canada, who all played games here.
Now a Dargaville agriculture store has got a permanent reminder of the biggest event to hit the country after winning a unique prize in aNorthern Advocate competition.
The competition was open to any company that advertised in the Northern Advocate's special Rugby World Cup supplement, with the winner getting a commemorative photo montage commissioned from Northern Advocate photographer John Stone, which was then framed.
The signatures of the Canadian, Tongan and Japanese rugby teams that played in Whangarei were also included in the work.
The one-of-a-kind prize went to Kaipara Agri Centre where director Graeme Lawrence is still deciding where to hang the photo montage prize, but may put it on display in central Dargaville first so that rugby fans can get a chance to see it.
If anyone would like a closer look, they can pop around to the Kaipara Agri Centre showroom and workshop on 34 Beach Rd, Dargaville, and Graeme and the team will show it off.
