Emergency services in Whangarei are dealing with a car that crashed through the front door of the Baby Factory in Tarewa Shopping Centre.

The car is understood to have gone through the front door of the store shortly after 1pm, causing damage to the front of the building.

A woman, believed to be in her 60s, was driving the vehicle and is not believed to be injured. There are not believed to be any other injuries at this stage.

The Baby Factory is near to the Cheesecake Shop. On January 25, a woman was left with broken bones when a Suzuki Liana, driven by a 73-year-old man, ploughed through the front of the Cheesecake Shop.

The injured woman was shielding her young daughter from the crash when she was hit while standing in line at the Cheesecake Shop.
