The weather was beautiful but there were plenty of activities luring people to spend A Big Day In in Whangārei on Saturday.

Whangārei Library hosted a range of activities and entertainment at the seventh annual "A Big Day In" that saw hundreds through the door. Artwork from preschools around Whangārei, which were visited by the mobile library, were showcased in the Children's Art Exhibition, while, other arts and craft groups attended include The Falls Estate Arts and Craft Group, The Papermill, Sew Good and Boomerang Bags Whangārei.

There was also the Hikurangi School Pacific Island Group, Community Choir and Scottish Country Dancers.

Other community groups attending the event included Eco Solutions Whangārei, Friendship Force of Whangārei, Girl Guiding New Zealand, Mangakahia Gardening Club, SeniorNet Whangārei, The Men's Shed, WINGS New Zealand, Yoga Ora - Holistic Wellbeing, and the Whangārei Youth Advisory Group.
