Traditional and Bollywood dances, together with patriotic songs concluded a fun-filled evening at the Indian Independence Day celebration in Whangārei.
The event last weekend also marked the 11th birthday of the organisers, Northland Indian Association, which was formed in 2007.
Indians and Kiwis of all ages were invited to partake in a number of musical and non-musical activities.
India gained independence from Britain in 1947.
The association supplied the Northern Advocate with these photos from the occasion.
