Come along to the Town Basin, put on a turban and walk around town.
The Whangārei Sikh Society is organising a Turban Day in a bid to better educate the public on the culture and religions beliefs of Sikhs who number up to 300 in Northland.
A similar event was held in Auckland two weeks ago.
Society spokesman Jas Singh said everyone was invited to the Town Basin to try a turban and to take it home free of charge if they wished.
"Whangārei is a growing community and a lot of times people think that because some people wear a turban, they come from a different planet but that's not the case.
