Police are continuing their search for a Northland man after an armed incident in Kamo, north of Whangarei, yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Justin Rogers of Northland Police said at 4.30pm yesterday police received a report of a male threatening another male - who was known to him - with a weapon.
"Police believe this is a domestic related incident and believe there is no indication at this stage that the person they are seeking poses any threat to the wider community," he said.
The man was believed to have left a property with a pistol.
Officers were sent to nearby streets and places it was thought he might go.
