Search and rescue are looking for two trampers in a Northland forest after they did not return to their hut last night.
Senior Sergeant Cliff Metcalfe said the pair set off tramping in Puketi Forest at 10am yesterday and had not been seen since then.
"They were meant to return to their hut last night and when they didn't turn up, the alarm was raised," he said.
Mr Metcalfe said police search and rescue had been deployed and were looking for the pair.
UPDATE: The trampers were found by search and rescue about 12pm. One woman was dehydrated but otherwise okay.
