Forum North's main hall will come alive this weekend with hundreds of colourful quilts and creations as the women who make up Whangarei's Patchwork and Quilters Club celebrate their 25th anniversary.
Hours, days, and even months of work have gone into some of the pieces in the impressive display of more than 150 quilts and multitude of smaller pieces.
Club members Lynne O'Donnell and Lynda Parker said they were excited about the exhibition opening today.
"We're really proud of our ladies, they do some beautiful work, and it's great to be able to open it up and show everyone what we've been up to," said Mrs O'Donnell.
The art form is diverse. Intricate pieces adorned with copper, sequins, beads, and mesh hang in stark contrast to the more traditional patchwork quilts.
