Richard Cranenburgh hanging works to be auctioned for North Haven Hospice.
The organiser expects no gift to be left unwanted at this evening's Hospice Charity Art Auction.
Richard Cranenburgh considers the standard and range of work in this year's auction is "the best yet".
It is the fifth year Mr Cranenburgh, director of On the Edge Design, has organised the auctionto raise funds for North Haven Hospice. He describes the event as "art and soul", made possible by the artists who gift their work.
Through family or friends, many of the artists have experienced hospice's support and often tell him this is a way of giving back.
North Haven patron and former long-term board member Murray Lints said the hospice is very grateful for the money and profile raised through the exhibitions.
"While we had art auctions for a number of years sporadically, Richard has really pulled it together. The generosity of the artists is exceptional and the business community is very supportive," Mr Lints said.
"The exhibition and auction gives a different kind of profile to hospice and there's an intrinsic benefit from that."
The works have been on show at Reyburn House for the past week, before the auction at 5pm today at Harcourts Auction Room in Robert St. Entry is by gold coin donation.
Up for bids will be a range of original work including paintings, drawings, ceramics, woodwork, textiles, jewellery, installations and photography.
