Police respond to sound of explosion in Lynmore to find damaged letterbox

A letterbox is damaged following a loud bang on Tarawera Rd today.

Police responded to a report of the sound of an explosion on Tarawera Rd at 10.51 this morning.

A police spokesman said it was described as a loud bang and when they attended the callout they found a damaged letterbox.

There were no injuries.

Inquiries are ongoing.
