SOFTBALL: One-sided games at Akina Park

Tamatea's Luke Herrick and Jovaan Hanley smashed home runs during a night of one-sided Hawke's Bay senior softball matches at Akina Park, Hastings last night.
Their homers came during Scarfe Builders Tamatea's 10-0 five innings win against Walmsley Contractors Dodgers. In the earlier senior men's clash Shooters Fast Pitch required three innings to wallop Marist 16-0.
Marist missed the services of their captain Scotty Mitchell and fellow infielder and Junior Black Sox player Mario Herbert.
Fast Pitch's Junior Black Sox representative Rongo Rapaea recorded three hits from his three turns at bat and those figures were also recorded by Canadian infielder Matt Scherr.
Rayner Te Wake pitched the first two innings for Fast Pitch and Ahitana Kuru the last one.
The only senior women's game saw Saints beat Flaxmere Mana Wahine 10-0.
